Hooked on You Kits are now available for pre-order! Each kit includes an autographed copy of Hooked on You, the Hooked on You yarn, and a crochet and knit pattern for the Riley Hat. Click here for order details.
Hooked on You features a yarn store, Knots and Tangles. Lorri Ann Helberg, who designs her own yarn and owns Arkansas Yarn Co. in Malvern, AR, has designed a beautiful yarn colorway inspired by the cover of Hooked on You. Here’s the yarn, also called Hooked on You.
I love how she brought out the teal (one of my favorite colors!) and the hints of yellows and pinks from the cover.
In addition to the yarn, there is also the Riley Hat, inspired by Riley McAlliister, the main character in Hooked on You. Tamara Kelly from Moogly Blog designed the crochet version, shown here.
The thing I love about handmade items is that each one is unique, even if the pattern is the same. This hat was fun to make, and the yarn feels so squishy! I like a slouchy hat, so this one is perfect. Moogly Blog has a ton of patterns and tutorials so check it out. I’ll be featuring a interview with her soon, so stay tuned!
Cheryl Ham, from Hypnotic Yarn, designed the knit version of the Riley Hat.
Isn’t it cute with the pom pom on top? I love that the knit and crochet versions of the hat are different yet compliment each other. I just recently started to learn how to knit, and my goal is knit this hat by the time cold weather hits.
Visit Cheryl’s website, Hypnotic Yarn, to find out more about her and her gorgeous yarn and patterns.

What is a yarn colorway?
Hi Harriet,
The term colorway simply means the particular name of the yarn. A colorway can have several colors, like the Hooked on You yarn. It’s a classification system so it’s easy to distinguish yarns from the other. I hope that makes sense. Great question!
