Contest runs from September 22-September 30. Thanks for entering!
I like to decorate inside and outside both with pumpkins, mums and scarecrows.
I love to put clings on the windows of leaves in fall colors. Put up orange and yellow lights throughout the house. Lastly I like to feed our guinea pigs pumpkins and squashes.
I have a ceramic pumpkin that I put out and often have candies in it. I also put out some dried gourds and coloured dried corn cobs in a dish that belonged to my great grandmother and make sure I have fall scented candles around to light, That is about the extent of my fall decor
So far my Fall decorating has been a bit frugal – all I have is a hanging sign from Dollar Tree and 2 large wine-colored Mums from Walmart. A pumpkin will follow up soon.
I have some leaves hanger that I put out
We don’t decorate much for fall just a few deceration in the house and few on our porch
With a fall wreath on the door and pumpkins whether they are real or make believe.
I live in an apartment so don’t do much outside except a few fall decorations on my door. I do have some fall pictures and other crafts that either family members or I made in the past and I am putting some of those up in my apartment. My space is limited as it is a 1 bedroom apartment but I do make it as pretty as I can.
I usually don’t decorate for fall. But if I did, I would buy and put potted chrysanthemum plants on my deck. And I’d have fall scented candles in the house.
I love to decorate each month outside with flag of the month and door wreath of the month as a minimum. For October I add pumpkins, ghosts and turn my garden in front into a graveyard. So much fun.
I have some indoor Fall decorations plus we buy a large pumpkin to put out front with some mums.
Mums are a big part of my outdoor decorations as well as some neck pumpkins. I then use the neck pumpkins to make my pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving! Inside, I have ceramic pieces I have made over the years to give the fall feeling.
Pumpkins and mums on the front porch stairs and lighted strings of leaves on the mantle
Thank you for this wonderful opportunity
I mostly decorated for Halloween and Christmas with things I’ve collected over the years!
Love to decorate starting at the beginning of October. I have decorations that I put out that are for “fall and Halloween” and they mostly stay through Thanksgiving where I add a few more with Pilgrims, and such. I have a Thanksgiving village which I love and that goes on the top of the piano each year. So I make a little switch in November taking down the “Halloween” and putting up the “Thanksgiving” items. It’s a lot of fun and to be honest I mostly do it for the grandkids!
A fall tablecloth for starters, centerpiece with small pumpkins different sizes and shapes & colors, colorful leaves in the centerpiece, fall tea towels in bathrooms, kitchen fall towels, and a touch of fall in each bedroom. Outside we have a few straw bales stacked with colorful scarecrows sitting on top in a wagon. The mailbox is also decorated with a fall cover. A fall wreath hung on the front door and the chicken coop. Lanterns are also placed at different places on the porch and in the house. We don’t display witches and black cats or other things attributed to witchcraft. Different types of Halloween candy are placed around too.
Happy Halloween and make it safe!!
Barbara
I don’t usually decorate for fall. I just use the leaves that are outside to make it look like fall.
No I don’t.
As soon as Labor Day has passed I decorate for Fall. With working full time and babysitting my grandson I don’t have time to decorate for Halloween and Thanksgiving – so I combine the two holidays. I hang up my mother’s autumn wreath in the hallway with a Halloween card from my brother stuck in the center (as soon as Halloween passes the card will be replaced with the card my brother sends me for Thanksgiving). In the kitchen I have my autumn themed potholders, towels, tablecloth and placemats. My living room tables are covered with fall themed tablecloths and runners. I have baskets of fabric fall flowers, cloth and ceramic jack o’lanterns/pumpkins and scarecrow figurines. I cover my furniture with autumn themed blankets and Halloween or fall themed pillows. And of course I have an autumn themed decoration on my front door.
I LOVE DECORATING FOR FALL! I HAVE A SMALL FALL FLAG THAT I PUT UP. I USE PUMPKINS AND MUMS. FOR HALLOWEEN I HAVE A TIN JACK O LA NTERN I PUT OUT SIDE WITH A FLICKERING FLAME. FALL IS MY FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR HAPPY FALL THAK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO WIN THE BEAUTIFUL POTHOLDER AND AN AUTOGRAPHED COPY OF AN AMISH PICNIC
PS I LOVE YOUR KNITTED PUMPKINS
I decorate with lots of pumpkins, thankful and blessed door pumpkin, fall flower bouquets and colorful tablecloths.
I have never decorated for fall. I have mums outside as part of our garden, though.
I have some fall decorations that I use every year that have special meaning to me from year’s past like the table runner that was given to me by a dear friend or the little critter ornament that has them pushing a wheelbarrow full of pumpkins that was given to me years ago by our daughter who now resides in heaven.
Love flowers so fall is time for mums in the flower beds and scarecrows made of cornstalks standing beside them. Since we need hay bales to be used to cover up the flowerbeds some the freezing temperatures, I incorporate them into my displays too.
While a lot of folks want to hurry Christmas, I definitely enjoy fall first and for as long as possible.
This year I crocheted some orange pumpkins for decorating the house and also made a few for a friend. I can’t decorate too much with having 5 cats. We also have a wreath that we hang on the front door.
I love to decorate inside and out for the fall…inside I have my ceramic pumpkins, scarecrows and fall flowers and lights. Outside I have cornstalks pumpkins and Mum’s and lights on my porch!
I put fall clings in the windows & pumkins, scarecrows & pilgrim decorations around the house. I also use decorative kitchen towels.
Yes today first day of fall. Time just seems to fly by. Picked apples from our two trees. Made some applesauce and Apple crisp. The recipe I use for the crisp is from an Amish cookbook that I know the author. We stayed on their farm when coming back from Florida. Met them on a quilt trip many years ago. They had 30 of us for dinner. One of the ladies on that trip was good friends with the family. Through the years we have touched base with them.
They opened part of their house to guests after their family married and moved out on their own. It is a small apartment and you do your own meals whatever you want to do. Just a small tidbit. It is located near Intercourse Pa.
Guess I didn’t answer the question.
I decorate for fall with pumpkins and mums outside and inside with quilted wallhangings and table runners. Also use guords and table arrangements. All of which I have made myself.
So far have not done anything, but usually just get a couple bright colored mums and a couple pumpkins!
We don’t do a lot!
Thank you for the chance In your contest.. I haven’t read that book yet and love different potholders
I don’t actually decorate for fall anymore. When my children were young I’d of course have pumpkins and we’d have fun carving them.
I use my fall leaves tablecloth and have small pumpkins and gourds to decorate inside. I also like to have pumpkins outside, and need to get a new fall wreath for the front door. I’m hoping to find something with fall leaves.
I bought several Mums this morning and put them in the front and they look so lovely.
That is it so far but I will be brightening up the house with Fall decor.
I mainly decorate with fall leaves across the mantle and a couple of wooden pumpkins in front of the fireplace and a scarecrow on the front porch.
When Fall arrives I start my decorating in earnest. The outside first with the beauty of the colorful mums and then inside especially through the living areas. Vases filled with flowers, leaves encircling the mantel and mini pumpkins arranged on the tables.
I decorate inside and outside. The railings along the stoop are covered with garlands of leaves. The front door has a Fall wreath on it and also leaves on the glass pane.

I haven’t decorated yet…. We live off the highway, so no one is around to enjoy it, and the porch is small!
In the past, I’ve used dead cornstalks from the garden, small gourds & pumpkins of various sizes, sometimes *dark red mums for contrast. I like to use cattails also, if available. I also have a wooden framed wall hanging with dry and silk fall-colored flowers, that hangs on the wall near the doorbell!
Inside, I love to carve out small pumpkins, insert a piece of florist’s foam, or a metal frog. and make small live bouquets! I also have assorted ceramic decorations and pumpkins from years past., that I use on the tables and the hearth.

We don’t really decorate for fall. I’ve never been a big fan of orange and brown, so we wait till after Thanksgiving and then I decorate for Christmas. THAT is my fave holiday and I do as Ebenezer Scrooge does: “I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.”

Pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins!
I have several crochet pumpkins I set out around the house. I also decorate the kitchen by making one of my mom’s applesauce raisin spice cakes. It makes the house smell like fall. My husband does his part as well by leaving most of the falling leaves on the ground instead of raking them in a nice pile.
