Welcome to the A Double Dose of Love Book Club discussion! For the next four days I’ll be posting one discussion question from the back of the novel. On Friday I’ll announce the four winners (one from each day). Answer the question in the comment section for a chance to win.
What do Darla and Zeke have in common, and how do those things make them a good match?
I’ll answer this question later on in the day, along with responding to your answers. Feel free to respond to other comments! Let’s have fun!
They are less responsible and more extraverted then their siblings. They make not so good decisions including in business matters and tend to be less apt to want to take responsibility for their actions. They want to be independent but don’t do it wisely.
They are both twins, and they have alike personalities in many ways. Both have a little bit of rebel in them, and both fully understands what the other is going through.
Darla and Zeke are more impulsive and do not consider their actions ahead of time. They don’t give it enough thought. They lack maturity and are unable to understand the gravity of their situation but want their freedom and to live their own lives. Their siblings have been their for them and have always helped them since they believe that it is necessary. Darla and Zeke understand their limitations and can overcome their difficulties.
They both act on impulse. Which can be a good thing because they won’t feel like the other is holding them back. They aren’t afraid to try something even when it’s not a good thing.
They are both a little flighty and wrapped up in themselves. Both seem to live for their dreams without thinking through all the requirements. But they both are big dreamers and harnessed correctly, this will bring them happiness I feel in the end.
Darla and Zeke are more impulsive and run on their emotions. I think they are a good match because they go with their emotions. They are willing to take a risk. Such as, Darla moving to a new place and Zeke making all the charges for the house and not telling anyone. Sometime I do think it’s better to make quick decision and go with your gut.
I loved this book! Darla & Zeke are both a little immature in the responsibility area. They also let their emotions control a lot of their actions without thinking their decisions through fully, but they are both truly kindhearted and have good intentions!
Darla and Zeke are more extroverted and free-spirted than their twin counterparts. They are also less likely to think things through before acting impulsively, causing negative consequences at times. They are not as PATIENT, the word used in the book. As for why they’re good together, this outgoingness and free-spiritedness will see them as having a lot of fun, lively adventures together — perhaps ones that are more athletic and/or risky… ones that fit their personality. I know this isn’t part of the question, but concurrently, they will also have to reign in their impulsivity in order to make better decision-making. I feel Darla can even help Zeke with his poor financial planning/saving because she does have financial sense/responsibility; she understands she needs to work in order to pay the bills and knows how much is needed to do so, etc. and could help Zeke with financial awareness and budgeting.

That’s a good point about how they understand their limitations, which helps them overcome them. I think that’s very wise of them. 🙂

Their impulse ways, and kinda immaturity. Act first think later happy go lucky I guess you could say.
